On Saturday, October 1st we were thrilled to partner with the Museum of Science at Boston's first Geek Street Fair powered by Google. The Boston Geek Street Fair hosted by Google was an interactive event that helped inspire kids to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and computer science. This year's awesome event was in partnership with Boston Children's Museum and HUBweek.
We met so many fun people from around the Boston area who braved the rain to be part of this free HUBWeek event and we loved showing off new technology being used in healthcare today. Our AMAZING friends from Applied VR joined us to showcase their virtual reality content created to offer patients an immersive, interactive distraction while in the hospital or other healthcare setting. Kids and families lined up to experience AppliedVR's powerful tool and were transported to completely different space via virtual reality! "AWESOME" was the word we heard over and over again throughout the day!
We shared our space with the fun folks from the Museum of Science, Boston who had kids and families creating parachutes while using critical thinking skills during their space re-entry activity. We were impressed with the creativity!
The event will brought together technology companies, community based organizations, museums, and content creators from across Greater Boston who provided interactive educational activities for families to explore. Check out the list of exhibiting partners!
Thank you to everyone who came out to visit us! Check out some of the photos from the day!
